Floridian Star, Floridian Star Yacht Cruises Fire in Corpus Christi – Floridian Star Yacht Cruises ship Floridian Star caught fire on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Firefighters were called out to the Corpus Christi marina on Shoreline just around 2300 hours, where the firefighter crew saw the deck of the Floridian Star cruise ship was on fire.

A message posted on the website says, “On June 15th there was a large fire aboard the Floridian Star while tied to the dock. This did not happen during business hours. One person was onboard and was able to safely evacuate the vessel in time, and the CC Fire Department was able to respond very quickly and effectively to control the blaze. Many thanks to the FD for their expedient arrival which certainly prevented this fire from causing further damage.

Unfortunately, the Floridian Star has been badly damaged and will be out of commission for the foreseeable future. Investigations are under way, and when they are complete we should be able to develop a clear picture of what caused this. In the meantime, we extend our gratitude to CCFD, the City Marina staff, the US Coast Guard and a host of others who came to our aid.”

Fire investigators say the fire started at an outlet on the main deck with extensive damage to the main deck and smoke damage to a lower deck.

No injuries were reported.

The Floridian Star is a 90-foot-long charter cruise yacht. The cruise ship carries 146 guests on two decks with a bar stocked with wide variety of liquor, beer, champagne and wine and a galley equipped for fresh cooked meal or catered meal hosting.
